frequently asked questions
we want to book you! What are the next steps?
All that is required to book Silent Wild Photos is a signed agreement and a retainer. Dates are booked on a first-come, first-served basis. Contact me for more details to reserve your date!
When should we book you for our photos?
As soon as possible! Right now this minute! As most weddings are held on weekends, these can be my busiest days and can be booked up months in advanced, but I can't 'pencil you in' or 'hold a date' for you until I have a signed agreement and retainer in hand. The faster this process goes, the faster I am secured as your photographer!
can you travel?
I sure can! I have been flown to Washington, Texas, Oklahoma, New York, Casco Viejo, London, Nottingham, Cape Town, and more to photograph various life events, including weddings, secret proposals, and engagement shoots. If you would like me to fly out to wherever you are, contact me and let's see what arrangements can be made!
I extend generous discounts towards small, destination elopements under ten people.
what equipment do you use?
I currently own a Canon 5D Mark III. I shoot with a 50mm f/1.2 and an 85mm f/1.2 and 24-70mm lens. When I photograph weddings, I use two 5Ds attached to a fancy leather harness. I hand edit every photograph with Adobe Lightroom.
how would you describe your style?
In three words I would describe Silent Wild Photos as fun, intimate, and rich. I long to capture the joyful memories as well as the serious, moving ones. I want my photographs to encapsulate the way a memory feels, not just for how a moment looked. The tone of my photographs stays rich in color without altering skin tones to be overly yellow or orange and without distorting the overall feel.
How long have you been shooting?
I feel like I was born with a camera in-hand! Growing up, I always loved being gifted disposable cameras from my mom and making sure I used each shot wisely, only clicking the shutter when I knew a shot would come out totally amazing. As the years went by and technology progressed, I would always want the latest point-and-shoot camera every Christmas. It wasn't until my senior year in high school until I was gifted my first DSLR. I started taking on paid shoots and progressed in skill and passion from there. In college I got a new DSLR, opened my photography business and started shooting weddings.
So, I guess I could say 'my whole life,' but on a more professional level, it's been five years.
